Truman Blue is officially, Truman Blue FDC SWN SCA SIA SEA THDA CGC TKA. He is a real-life therapy dog and served as a crisis response dog. He is semi-retired. While working full time, his favorite places to regularly visit were behavioral health hospitals and children’s shelters. As a crisis response dog, he served at more complex events like tornado or hurricane recovery.
The author spent hundreds of hours acclimating Truman Blue to all sorts of situations. Positive reinforcement helps Truman Blue understand that what he is doing is fun and rewarding (TREAT). Truman Blue has also done some acting. He was “the dog” in a local production of “Of Mice and Men.” He is a National Park Service BARK ranger, a fun title any dog can earn at many national parks. He is a gentle soul who loves to learn new tricks and visit new people and places.
Along with his huMOM, who is a retired National Park Service ranger, Truman is in semi-retirement but using his nose to earn AKC Scent Work Titles. He lacks one pass (called a leg) to earn his Scent Work Advanced title.
